About Benjamin Do

I am currently a student at Florida International University in the EMBRACE program.

Passions

  • Digital animation.  I started taking digital animation classes at Exception Minds in 2015. I learned to use Adobe Premiere, Animate, Photoshop, and a number of other programs needed to prepare and animate images. 
  • Art.  I started taking art classes at an early age and love to draw and paint.
  • Music.  I love both popular and classical music.  I have perfect pitch and can name any note or chord when played.  I can play the piano, and taught myself play Grant Woolard’s Classical Mashups from just watching the Youtube videos.

  • Co-Led the Turtle Talk Show, scriptwriting, green screen filming, teleprompter, and Adobe Premiere editing.

  • Baked cookies for the store.  Prepared individual cookies: check weight and put on baking sheets.
  • Washed dishes.

  • Attended to cheese station in the kitchen.  Cut and label cheeses.

  • Performed general office duties, including checking the mail and shredding confidential papers.

Skills

  • Advanced computer skills using Windows and Macs.  Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint (can prepare most presentations) and Word.  Proficient in Excel.
  • Excellent memory.  I can recall flight schedules, dates, and times for most everything I’ve participated in.  I know many planes by sight and remember many scheduled flights.
  • ServSafe certified, November 2019.

Interests

  • Baking and cooking.  I enjoy creating new recipes and dishes.  Signature creations include Ben’s Cookie Jar Cheesecake, Looney Tunes Terrine, and Lobster ala Ben. 
  • Won First Prize fours years in a row in the Frelinghuysen Arboretum’s annual gingerbread contest for my Imagine Van Gogh Restaurant and Monet’s Garden at Giverny, Imagine Van Gogh in Portofino, and Impressionism at the Mendham Mudhole.
  • Enjoy playing the piano (have taken lessons for 13 years).  I have perfect pitch and can tell any note or chord.
  • Proud Special Olympics New Jersey Athlete in Track & Skiing.
  • Volunteer coach with Mendham Magic for 3 years. Help runners prepare for track and cross-country meets.

  • Student in the EMBRACE program.  Completing course work towards Bachelor of Arts degree.
  • Course work includes 2D Design, Public Speaking, Writing & Rhetoric, Professional Communications, etc.

  • Participated in CTC’s Adult Program as part of adult transition plan.
  • Completed all course work and graduated with a high school diploma.
